I need another project like I need a hole in my head, but I’m off work tomorrow and was going to finish up my trailer and clean up my garage. So why not get something to put back in it? Also, trailer is going to need a maiden voyage.

Oh, and I have a Honda Nighthawk 250 engine sitting around! Its twice the cylinders, twice the horsepower and has a 5 speed transmission!!!

I’m thinking price is CP though. It doesn’t run, and tires are flat (I’m guessing they will all need to be replaced), the seats are probably junk. I’m thinking more like $200 or so. It appears this is a Tomberlin Crossfire 150R. Any idea what it would be worth?

I wish we had a place to run a cart. We visited my buddy’s farm a few years ago and had a great time on his four wheelers, motorcycles, and in his  Jeep. It’s too bad his farm is 12 hours away.

Thats kind of my issue as well. I live in suburbia right outside of DC. I could tool around the neighborhood in it, I actually think most of my neighbors would approve, especially if I gave rides to the kiddos. But there’s nowhere I could really open it up.

But I also have that 250 motor that’s doing nothing, t he frame is trashed. I’m wondering if this would be a worthwhile flip project.

Definitely CP.

Riding around on the streets is a bad idea, even if the neighbors are ok with it. If you’re caught by a cop, it’s a minimum of two tickets - driving an unlicensed vehicle on the street and driving without insurance. Hit a car or cause a wreck and you could be on the hook for a big bill.

I wouldn’t be willing to take on a flip like that. An engine in a frame not designed for it could open you up for a liability suit. I wouldn’t take the risk, but I know a lot of people would.

Haha, been there, done that. Years ago (and in a different state) I bought a Suzuki TS-185 scrambler to flip. When I got it running, I took it for a quick jaunt down to the end of the street and back to my house, and my grumpy neighbor called the police and I ended up getting a ticket for riding an unregistered vehicle. When I sold the bike I made just enough money to cover the ticket and the parts I’d needed for the bike, effectively breaking even.

I probably wouldn’t flip it, it’s just a thought. I think you’re right on it being risky, but also just risky from a sales perspective becuase a lot of people are going to shy away from anything modified.

This is frustrating because I think it would be so much dang fun! Hmm, I don’t know why I just thought of this but I do have a cousin with a farm that lives 45 minutes away. Its mostly corn, though, so I can’t be tearing up the fields. But I wonder if there’s other spaces I could ride.

And if the cop really isn’t having it , they’ll just impound it!
